iPod 4g - Screen Replacement

about 1 week ago smashed (somehow ) ipod screen. want replace it, not in apple store couse take 150+ pounds repair in service http://www.iphonespecialist.co.uk/device.php?id_phone=95

im kind of worried replacement, friend told me had friend got screen replaced , ipod dodgy, not same, less sensitive etc. etc. think safe replace in service? or should 1 bit more expensive, job ... anyway, dont know do, whether go apple store or use rapair service ...
