I had an iMac....for a week!

bought first imac week ago. since nothing problems wifi connection - intermittent dire slow internet, frequent disconnections etc.

know seems common problem wierd thing apart slow connection on imac, the mac trashing connection on every other device on network!

- lenovo windows laptop has worked fine years ground halt when accessing internet. setup constant ping lenovo pc google.com , consistently either timing out or 3000ms+. same on other devices in house. turn imac wifi off, returns normal.

called applecare several times , on last 5 days reckon i've spent 20+ hours trying fix :

changed wifi channels
turned else off (ipad, ipod, iphone, pcs, printers etc)
changed encryption
turned encryption off altogether
moved router different part of house
moved imac different desk
removed & recreated locations
refreshed network settings
deleted system preferences
bought new router
tried imac on neighbors wifi connection
checked interference (there 3 wifi routers in sight of mac, mine , 2 others across street me)

so...... as pains me (because os , product) i've called apple , told them come , collect full refund.

 

wow, imacs break internet connection? must have bad/broken one, not working.
