HDMI cable for Mac Mini

i tried 3 different hdmi cables before found 1 worked new mac mini, , 3rd 1 12 foot long 1 need bd player. reason others aren't working? hdmi hdcp compliant, correct? want inexpensive short(3 ft) cable works.

 

electric signals travel better on thick wires. wires not same. , hdmi is big bag of hurt.

monoprice.com need. @ awg ratings, smaller numbers mean larger wires inside cable.
