Delete folder but not contents

basically going on, have of songs on sd card car stereo. copied these itunes after deleting album names (so songs in same folder). itunes put songs under artist inside folder called unknown album.

i'm wondering if there way delete unknown album folder of music , put songs under artist directly.
know can manually copy/pasting/deleting few thousand songs endless.

help.

in case in matters i'm running snow leopard.

 

personally, open terminal , used mv or combination of find , mv task.

have told exact command type, don't quite understand file structure trying describe. can figure out reading man pages. this, open terminal , type "man mv" or "man find".
