since got new imac last year i've throught felt bit slow. although put , got used it.
although i've been looking ssds etc , noticed people using benchmark tool blackmagic design called disk speed test (how apt..)
anyway, i'm getting between 70mb/s , 80mb/s on read , write.
old imac used way higher that, around 100mb/s on read , 70mb/s on write. late 2006 24" model 500g wd hard drive.
there can this? drive in imac wdc wd1001fals-403aa0 , it's linked @ 3gb/s.
i'm sure i've had higher performance out of 1t drives...
anyway, there can short of getting better drive/ssd? know few drives come power saving, run slower save power, run cooler , quieter. i'd rather have performance quiet hard drive. hard drives these days quiet anyway.
i suggest getting ssd mentioned. , said looks want new hard drive... either or ssd if have money...
