Otterbox Defender: Worth it if you have a Car Dock?

currently, have front , zagg invisible shields apple bumper. have xm skydock dock extender. works great, bumper after 2 months, tearing. i'm thinking of getting otterbox defender instead, i'm concerned ability put phone in skydock. has tried out? need try , hope can return if doesn't work out?

also, if don't have skydock, have otterbox defender, how it? add lot of bulk?
