i started using after effects , while grasp front end stuff premiere, end stuff seems lagging. using ae on pc , mac.
how can optimize speed of ae?
example, ae seems hate media files on seperate drives. have raid 0 put media on. seem right?
also, took me 20 minutes last night export 10 second hdtv 1080 30p avi file. don't need 1.8gb file pumped out. shooting on t2i , can quality.
mac quad core ati 4870 8 gigs ram
pc quad core (q9550) 8 gigs ram & gtx 470
both have raid 0 (2x1tb wd black)
check after effects "memory , multi processing" preferences. @ composition "render settings" , output codec. of explained in user manual.
rendered out composition @ full quality in lossless codec. source media ae should happy formats except mpeg files. also, careful of effects use in composition, lighting, 3d, , motion blur. of these can burden render times depending on render settings, composition size, media size/format...
ps see have 8 gb ram works ok, after effects likes lot of ram.
