Macbook DVD Region Code

hi, first time here.
i've got following problem...
bought dvd on amazon. unfortunately didn't know region 1. can't watch because i'm germany. know can change region setting on dvd player on macbook. i've done before, it's been whole since watched on mac, forgot how it.
can tell me how change region settings on mac?

also, know can change settings 5 times. changed them 5 times. don't know anymore, said, it's been while since watched anything. in case changed 5 times...is there type of software can download still watch dvd?

would know also.
possibly different option watching dvds?
