iphoto and crash plan

so had been backing iphoto library through dropbox got large economically feasible continue so. trying out crash plan , running odd issue. dropbox said iphoto library larger mac said was, crash plan has opposite issue. stating 20gig library 15 gigs. know why might be?

 

why not backup external drive?
