iPad for Band Directors/Teachers

i band director in high school , middle school, looking buying ipad use teaching.

band teach doesn't have ton of money, want make sure not expensive toy, or able utilize it. have never used 1 before, , not familiar apps use either.

information big help, , appreciated.

 

i'm working musician , use ipad regularly score reader. it's quite notating score quite difficult. still, right apps it's easy circle or highlight passage.
