my parents have used computers thirty years, not power users... can browse internet, e-mail, edit documents , skype, , that's it.
planning them ipad, loaded (among other things) scans of pre-2000 physical photo albums. scanning lot of work, making progress.
parents have windows computer, , have linux computer boots windows. manage photo collection (and else) on linux. maybe 1 day, there mac in family, not in near future.
rules out using iphoto. understand can still sync picture folders using itunes on windows. strikes me not elegant: time want add pictures ipad, need find way transfer pictures parents computer, have them run itunes, sync etc... it's hassle, since not there them out (i live couple of hours away them).
better result if not use ipad's 'native' photos app, , app, let's me manage pictures in cloud? suggestions? or diminish experience? wifi not bottleneck.
smugmug great photo service , have ipad app.
