How can I avoid Garageband's metronome to get recorded in an Audio Track?

hi all,

setup

korg m50 (1/4 outputs connected 2x1/4" inputs on of speakers, have audio interface)
macbook (gb)
alesis m1active 320 usb speakers audio interface. http://www.alesis.com/m1active320usb?tt=5

workflow

open session in gb, create new real instrument track , setup input , output via alesis monitors, have audio interface , connected via usb macbook.

turn metronome on, ie, i'm recording bass line (real instrument, not midi) , metronome click being recorded bass line. turning off metronome not option because need keep tempo. anyhow, if record bassline without metronome , then, on new instrument track record piano (real instrument track), piano gets recorded along bass line resides on track 1.

i've tried use macbook audio input (same trial) , speakers usb output, setup recording levels on gb, metronome on or off , metronome doesn't recorded along each track, so, works.

on matter appreciated.

i'm not sure understand issue is. metronome shouldn't recorded along tracks, unless you're getting bleed through (from headphones mic, perhaps). can describe in more detail going on?
