Help needed

hi guys need imac has gotten bit old , i'm looking buy new 1 i'm interested in mac pro 2008 model have around £1000 spend or better if got new 1 mac mini or play lot of music , use windows university course dont want buy 2008 , find in year or it's out of date sudgestions

 

what mean "play music"? play musical instrument , use computer recording , mixing , composing, or let itunes (or music software player) play music files?
because if latter, mac pro bit overkill, power consumption alone seen on next power bill.
