Combine two ends of basketball action?

a friend pointed out new features of new version of final cut pro, , know if can suggest whether software on market can do.

set 2 static video cameras, each filming 1 half of basketball court. let both record entire game. so, while 1 camera has action in it, other camera filming empty court.

import both camera's inputs, , put them side-by-side synchronized. these 2 side-by-side inputs same height final video should be, double width.

then, using "window" or "frame" size of final output (16:9 aspect ratio), "sweep" "window" or "frame" left , right, following action of game.

final output single screen, 16:9, showing action flowing 1 end of court another.

similar, essentially, photoshop's distinction between image size , canvas size. "canvas size" of video 32:9, , "image size" of video -- control , move , forth on course of video produce final product -- 16:9.

so, moving "image size" , forth across "canvas size" define output seen in final hd dvd.

final cut pro or other software allow kind of work? appreciated. have tinkered final cut express, , not found way this.

thanks!
