Best method for running iPhone and iPod with iTunes

hello everyone

i'm new world of mac computing. had ipod number of years, , iphone year , (as in 2 days ago) took delivery of new macbook.

i'm transfer music , photos macbook , wondered if give advice on best configuration using itunes iphone , ipod. example, 1 set 'master' device, 1 use 'slave', how sync music across both, etc.

i've tried searching net haven't come across answers i'm looking i'm happy read through sites if has links me.

copy entire itunes music folder on pc mac's music folder , run it. it'll fine, no need master or slave devices.
