Finder Lock-Up when doing file transfers?

hello all!

had mbp few days. awesome.

i'm moving files around still, , when copy file more 50-100mb, finder locks up. can still open , use other apps, finder locks ideas whats causing this? if restart , not works fine again, annoying

don't want have re-install lion, if need will!
