Does itunes modify the original files?

as title might suggest, know if itunes or can replace track info data on original files?

if possible, want enable can manually "fix" of music on server. other devices have correct info , covers ect.

if you're referring tags album, artist, track number, etc., yes, modifying info in itunes modify file itself. same true if manually add artwork.
