Connect MacBook 2007 to 55" tv how

i got new 3d tv visio 55". have connected macbook tv when play avi movies it's resolution not good. in display settings had choose 720p fill whole screen.

need choose movies playing macbook great on larger screen.

can provide step step instructions.

 

a 55" large tv, , depending on resolution of .avi file (720 x 406 or similar) , compression, visual quality on such big screen abysmal.
