AppleCare+ international coverage?

hello,
i'm thinking of asking friend in america @ moment me applecare new ipad. unless i'm missing something, applecare available direct apple applecare+, right?
apple don't sell in australia, i'm wondering if still standard applecare coverage in aus if buy ac+ us?

 

applecare+ isn't valid in australia, you'd wasting money. applecare (the non-plus version) region-specific, why wouldn't buy ac in australia , eliminate issues warranty validity start?
