3 gbs of memory running chrome, word, and excel?


13 tabs open on chrome, 1 document on excel, word no documents, finder , mail. 3 gbs or memory usage? missing something?

these lion on latest low end mini 4 gbs of memory, mac bought week ago.

no need obsess on ram on mac. chrome known bit of pig , i've seen cause beachballs on 2008 macbook 4gb of ram running 10.7.3 if leave chrome running several weeks 50 70 tabs open.

mention excel , word. have found office 2011 resource pig , recommend closing them when aren't using them. expunge microsoft cruft login items.

lastly mention finder , mail. finder never source of resource issues mail can drain mac if set new imap account tens of thousands of messages download. once you're done downloading thousands of messages, , once sync circles of imap accounts stop spinning, mail should no resource issue @ all.
