What Lion stuff can I discard please; need more disk headroom

i'm running lion on 40gb ssd , i'm running out of disk space.
can safely discard lion installation gain 5+ gb
of free space? apps refer scratch disk cache & temp
functions. created files on disk, obvious stuff.

once in past cloned away ssd disk , cloned
, tidied nicely, if had defragmented regular hdd. but
ssd's different way, aren't they?

 

you can try grabbing app monolingual clean out ppc code , languages, careful. won't save space, though on 40gb drive might worthwhile.
