Macbook Taking 3mins To Log In

hello all.

looking help. purchased macbook apple oct 2009 , never had issues @ all, purchased myself 27' imac , gave macbook sister.

has been saying how taking forever load. 2 weeks ago wiped new macbook, when turned on, itunes asked if update lion software (i had installed lion on release on both machines) , fine few days, started not detecting wifi. took apple, had replace airport card done , every things working.

mentioned how taking ever load , said had 2gb of ram, buy 4gb ram increase speed lion known slow macbooks down little, purchased it, came morning , has installed.

it's taking (and yes timed ) 2 minutes , 34 seconds enter password on user log in. mentioned previously, have wiped off - thing has installed microsoft office - has no music/pictures/internet files on it.

did try use cd in macbook box downgrade leopard seem have had issues since lion, disk wouldn't work.

have suggestions @ all? don't mind if has wiped again has nothing on it, has been backed on external hard drive. i'm unsure when password in entered, 5mins trying open 'system preferences' takes 30/40 seconds.

if help, mac info is:
processor: 2.26 ghz intel core 2 duo
memory: 4gb 1067 mhz ddr3

launch activity monitor , change "my processes" @ top "all processes", click on cpu column heading once or twice, arrow points downward (highest values on top). see may consuming system resources.

check see if spotlight indexing looking @ menu bar icon: (not indexing) (indexing)
