hey guys,
in advance response. i'm editing enormous series of video right that's on timeline finished (one per week next month). it's been going smoothly until now. started 150gb of raw video shot on nikon d7000 @ 1080p , 24 fps. when fcpx optimizing media started take way room bought external hard drive (lacie running off of fw800) , had fcpx reroute there. things seemed going smoothly until revisited older footage inclusion in project. started notice not older stuff newer, optimized footage, extremely jerky on playback , couldn't use because of being unable accurately place cuts , music.
tried making proxy , optimized media of again , it's literally been running 12 hours straight untouched , has barely gotten past 14%. here stats:
2.4ghz 2008 unibody mbp
8gb ram, 500gb onboard drive 150gb available.
1tb lacie & 2tb g-tech both running via fw800 separately.
ideas how stuff stop being jerky , stop taking days optimize? can't spend day waiting wrap , it's clear today wasn't enough. if you've got tips streamline whole process that'd great too, i'm pretty new fcpx.
in advance.
i don't have mbp, guess hang-up fw i/o. have thunderbolt port on mbp? can access thunderbolt external device?
if not, esata? still faster fw drives.
