Dual 3.33 Hex in 2009 MacPro?

i've seen discussed in various places wanted make sure have straight. if update efi firmware on 2009 nehalem macpro4,1...you can put in hex 3.33's in right? current 12-core macpro's go 2.93ghz, problem putting in higher clocked cpu's?

i'm not planning anytime soon, got great deal on 2009 8-core 2.93ghz machine, , in year+ when 3.33 hex's down in price, if i'm not interested in selling machine or getting what's latest , greatest, awesome upgrade have...giving me clocked faster per core current top 12-core models.

thoughts? off-base here?
