DFU Mode - Server could not be contacted

"make sure network settings correct , network connection active, or try again later"

that's error message i'm getting.


new ipod isnt showing in itunes. (well, in side bar, in main window it's saying "ipod")
i've tried putting iphone in dfu mode restore instead, itunes 10.6 won't connect server.

have direct link ios5/5.0.1/5.1? can alt+click restore?
