Wireless Trackpad swiping between fullscreen apps not working

hey guys, new forum , after doing quick search of forums topic not answer. have 1 of nice new shiny wireless (bluetooth) trackpads , instantly ran issue.

doing 4 finger swipe switch between full screen apps not working. when in safari swipe between pages if performing 2 finger swipe. has else ran issue? did search on apple's support site , noticed there couple firmware updates products not new this.

additional info:
running mac os x 10.7.2
2011 macbook pro i7
trackpad model = a1339

 

it can set either 4 finger swipe or 3 finger swip app switching check if it's set 3 finger. remember air set 3 finger , mini set 4 finger , thought swiping on mini wasnt working until noticed in system prefs. if it's set 3 not work 4 fingers. thought.
