VLC Requires Restart For Audio To Work When Plugging In HDMI

if have vlc open, , plug mac tv via hdmi, have quit vlc , reopen sound come out tv, otherwise continues playing out computer speakers. same applies if unplug hdmi, have restart vlc.

vlc app doesn't seem switch sound output when happens. no issues other apps.

there way vlc switch audio output without having restart?
