Use Single processor QPI1 in dp mac pro (2010)

hi , again here make question guru of excellent forum.. ask :

have 8 core 2,4 ghz e5620 bottlenecking crossfire 5870 under windows 7...

1 )i have read possible take 5500 or 5600 series , , if u dont have money take 1.... replace socket a.. , leave socket b empty, work. right?

2) if take i7 or xeon 1366 socket.. doesn t have interlan qpi 2 , leave socket b empy forever? work? never been tested ? know ecc ram not work if don t use xeon example.. don't mind...... hope can me this.

2. don't know 1 has tried in mac pro can't. know on other dual socket boards people have tried , not work 5520 chipset firmware never intended to.

guess if don't have 5770 graphics card spare it's more awkward sell system , buy another, either used 2009/2010 , pop in w3680 or wait new models, although resale have lowered fair bit.

other option buy daughter board, heatsink , w3680. if sell parts should break on switch. might find swap daughter board , heat sink yours if want upgrade dual processors.
