upgrading my Macbook to 4GB

i thinking of upgrading macbook 2.16 core 2 duo 4gb of memory. however, guys @ micro center told me macbook won't recognize it. i'm not sure if true or if want me buy mac.

anyway, has done this?

also, lion run on 2gb of memory? intend run xcode. try this? thanks!

 

it accept 2 two gb ddr2 so-dimm modules, 3 gb usable.
