Some advice on Lion server please

hi there,

run small business 4 full time employees , several remote freelancers.

find incredibly frustrating need several programmes in order share 'stuff' , wondering if lion server may option 'get rid of issues!'

mac users in office , of our freelancers pc users remote.

basics of want is:

- share calendars (we use ical not google) find annoying @ moment computers not on icloud - know solve this.
- file share
- create areas of server clients have access in order see files
- create ups of company computers
- potentially host mail servers
- potentially host website - recommended??

know needs basic, grow expand. i've looked everywhere , not entirely sure how set users - mean, can see 'create new user' etc, mean how connect computer server?

how set secure server? avoiding hacking if did host website?

sorry if i'm asking dumb questions, fed of having on place!

in advance or advice..

lion server can of including webserver.

number of users talking about, won't need powerful run on either (unless website gets lot of traffic). core2duo mac or macmini should although you'll need big disks if plan use timecapsule office computers.

able set sharing groups internal , external users.

few others things need are:-

- bandwidth - both download , upload
- static ip address
- relevant dns , mx records point domain name , email @ server's ip.
- set you!

lion server has nice gui in reality, configuring services need (dns, afp, ical, mail, apache) require degree of tinkering 'under hood'.

re. hacking, lion's webserver recent(ish) build of apache world-class, nothing impregnable , victim of attacks on other services (pwned mail servers handy spammers example).
