long time lurker , first time poster folks, reads on past couple years.

i'm torn between 2 models above because of macmall special running now. i'm typical average user, no gaming. here's rundown of options i'm mulling on right , i'm seeking feedback recommend , why:

mc906ll/a (new 1.6 c2d / 4gb / 128ssd) - no keyboard backlight
macmall - $799 $849(after $50 rebate)(tax??)(free fedex overnight ship)

fc969ll/a (refurb 1.6 i5 / 4gb / 128ssd) - yes keyboard backlight
apple outlet - $999+tax (free standard ship)

macmall 1 comes $50 restaurant.com gc that's not deciding factor @ me. deal through end of today 1/20 only.

go , why?

 

i'd go 2011. apart plain box, apple refurbished units indistinguishable new units. faster processor in 2011 hold better on time, plus thunderbolt port should become more useful year pc manufacturers start supporting it.
