okay, i've got ipod touch 4th gen 32gb. i've preordered new ipad 64gb wifi model.
question is: how transfer settings, app/game saves, etc? icloud of that? know can restore backup when going ipad ipad, i'm adding ipad, , continue use ipod touch well. want , running , painlessly.

you can restore ipad backup of touch. copy settings on touch ipad. rename ipad different touch, , going forward can manage them independently of each other.
now, backup can either icloud backup or itunes backup. restoring icloud backup takes longer because downloaded on internet.
