New iBooks 'Not Technically' in ePub Format

techcrunch summarizes notes today's media event. of interest, seem reveal apple's interactive textbook format not quite official epub 3 spec:

earlier rumors had suggested apple adopt epub 3 new ibooks, according note, it's different. it's not clear means , if changes meant fold epub standard or not.

apple's ibooks author application creates content in new format , projects made application can sold through itunes store. @ point, however, seems no other vendors yet support format.

ibook author allow preview ipad, book have ribbon reads: "proof".

can email book or else ipad. when open book attachment, not say: "proof", , other book may have.

makes me believe not forced distribute books through ibook store, great deal.

may export pdf , ibooks author proprietary format.

can see applications tool unlimited. it's been left our own imagination discover content publish. i'll writer's delight.
