mac reads 2tb drive out of 2tb drive, not windows

so have external 2tb drive , used 1.5tb space. mac reads still have 500gb left. drive fat32

when plugged drive friends windows reads not space left , pretty full , when tried move files on friends windows, wouldnt move correctly


why mac read different , how know when space full?

 

is there chance you've deleted files on mac side failed empty trash? don't think case, i've forgotten few times.
