IS Apple TV 3 the right choice?

howzit guys,

so, considering ditching xbox 360 in favor of apple tv 3 media streaming. however, seems limited can stream , how can stream it.

@ moment setup this:

windows 7 pc couple of hdds movies on - in avi , mkv format goes switch , xbox connects switch. use tversity on pc xbox can see , thus, can stream movies hdds tv.

if understand correctly - apple tv needs itunes work , itunes not support avi , mkv files, correct?

there way take xbox out , replace apple tv setup or not possible?

i'm replacing asus eepc thing apple tv3. router supports usb western digital , turns nas. thing out of atv jailbreak badlad, , @ time i'm not aware of jailbreak has been release os version has.

i'm going wait , use mine netflix now.
