How to copy photos to iPad

when sync photos itunes ipad, can not delete photos on ipad itself. can sort of understand why, defeats purpose. want load bunch of photos onto ipad, , want use throw away bad ones.

problem concept of syncing. don't want sync photos. instead, want copy photos ipad, can whatever want photos on ipad. how can quickly?

need do, it's bit slow. takes minute/picture. there simple transfer does, @ speed of itunes sync?
