Ford Sync and the iPhone

for part, iphone integration sync great. calls, bluetooth streaming, siri. here question/concern.

if i'm not using bluetooth (i.e. listening radio or usb) no alerts heard on iphone or through sync. if i'm trying use nav program on iphone, have turn bluetooth off can hear directions through iphone speaker. love if directions go through sync regardless of source using.

working design or there setting can change?
