Extremely poor performance MBP battery

hi guys,

wonder if shed light on issue. bought new mbp 15" 2.2 i7 , receiving extremely low battery life (1.5 hours approx) i'm running @ below 50% brightness , using browsing, music (light use)

far i'm aware people getting 4-6 hours mbp lion, im pretty sure somethings not right. , wondered if there resolve issue without sending mbp apple. know can calibrate battery im unsure how this, or if help. imagine battery fresh, not refurb , i've had literally 4 days or so.

concern i'll using 3d modelling on commute work (a long train journey) on next month don't want dead laptop before i've studio.

apologies if topic covered , i've missed it, , help/feedback.

there many factors impact battery life. see battery life charge section of following link details, including tips on how maximize battery life.

the built-in batteries in newer mac unibody notebooks come pre-calibrated , do not require regular calibration removable batteries.

if drive active or cpu utilization high (possibly increased temps , fan speed) when you're not running major apps, check see if spotlight indexing looking @ menu bar icon:
