got imac 12 days ago, while i'm loving it, i'm still not sure made right choice, here it: bought iphone/ipad development, i'm studying software engineer (starting), here's got:
-ipad 2
-dell xps8300 intel core i7, 10gb ram, ati raedon 6770 gpu 24" display.
-laptop sony vaio 15" intel core i5, 4gb ram, intel graphics 3000.
-and imac 27" low end (i5, 12gb ram etc),
use laptop coding @ school(so portability not issue), nothing else, thinking might wise choice return imac , macbook pro instead, , plug 24" display, , sell sony laptop (because having 4 devices more need) don't mind money i'd laptop.
concern giving 27" display.
of ever code in imac vs macbook pro? else, think?
buyer's remorse?
27" imac 2+ years old. have new 15" mbp, need portability.
programming on imac. photography , 3 hours of video week. teach electrical engineering courses part time , use imac course development, management, , grading. gets major workout. i've got 20" 1600x1200 display attached more screen area. can't have screen. i'll typically have 15-20 applications running @ same time.
new mbp fast imac, screen smaller. ergonomics of desktop system superior, important if spend many hours day @ keyboard/display.
if have 1 system have mbp, because need portability classes , travel. moved 13" aluminum mb more display area , quad core (i maxing 13" c2d processor doing screen capturing while running cad programs on windows under parallels). however, when i'm @ home use imac. it's more comfortable.
