howdy guys,
lobbed crucial 256gb m4 ssd in mid 2010 imac, , put , forgot ifixit says , put emi foam pad old hdd on new ssd.
required? i'd rather not open again put on isn't necessary.
advice appreciated!

no you'll fine. i've been inside of number of imac's. piece of foam there give support traditional hard disk since insides sandwiched (as i'm sure know), , sort of laying there, propped against rear of machine. since ssd not spinning / spinning down, it'll fine without in opinion. enjoy speed boost!
