Mac Mini for Video Editing!

so have 2011 macbook air, 13" model i5. it's excellent i've ever needed for; however, i'm looking somewhat-intensive video editing, can take hd video shot on gopro hero 2 (720p @ 30fps, 60fps, 1080p @ 30fps) , alter using adobe software bundle - adobe premiere pro , adobe after effects. clearly, macbook air not intended intensive software this, not mention mba hdd 128gb (although have 1tb external), doesn't leave after these hefty software installs.

original plan pick relatively cheap, spec'd out windows laptop, , thing. being said, wasn't able find decent under ~$600. got me thinking may better off mac mini, since have apple keyboard , mouse, , can plug directly hdtv usage.

question this: $762 mac mini (as per best buy) amd dedicated graphics card (256mb), 4gb of ram, , i5 processor sufficient doing need do? editing 5-10 minute videos, possible 20-30 @ best. additionally, saw 8gb of kingston ram mac mini on amazon yesterday, upgrade well.

machine perform me? better macbook air (which takes lot of time render, encode, , import movies imovie)?

i forced cut 3 full hd tv episodes on mini 3 years ago. had color correction, motion graphics, lower 3rds , editing on it. footage higher bit-rate gopro.

external drive scratch disk , ram , should fine. editing isn't processor intensive motion graphics are. increased ram , speed of external drive on fw800 bus more proc.
