ok, old 1st gen imac g3s don't have disc trays. have tray-less drives similar current imacs. i'm guessing imac "thinks" there disc in there. safety tabs snapped towards front prevent disc being inserted absolutely positive there no disc in there. there way reset safety tabs?
info: whenever boot imac runs through eject mode it's trying rid of disc. guess gives after 5 8 seconds. when computer off can insert disc drive said boot imac spits out. i'm stumped. i've never been disc drives. many springs , plastic moving parts =/ yuck! can me out?
the first g3 imacs had tray drive. newer g3 imacs have slot loading drive. you'll have disassemble imac drive reset it.
