How to tell which speed iPad is using to connect to Airport Extreme

i know ipad should (if set correctly) using 5ghz side of airport extreme, how know?

have 4mb service (which got updated 500kb service!) don't have ton of wiggle room when comes streaming video, when speed test hard wired (through ae) pc of 4mb speed, can sitting right next ae , speed test ipad , consistently 1.5mb.

64gb verizon 3rd gen ipad in case helps.

you have check using airport utility. g mode running in 2.4ghz band use available 4mbps. think b can use well.
