Graphics processor temperature?

hi all.
have 2011 15" mbp radeon 6750m. recently, downloaded better activity monitoring system, , noticed happened tell me temperature of things.

anyhoo - make use of graphics card least. playing minecraft (a decently processing intensive application). while playing, cpu temp jumps maybe 63c - not big deal. however, graphics card rockets 73c (quite hot). problem? in desktop know cause alarm, but....

i'm asking temperature should gpu under stressful conditions, , 73c high?

thanks!

no, it's not high. intel processors used in macs designed automatically shut down prevent damage if overheat (around 100c/212f - 105c/221f, depending on processor). istat pro give accurate readings of temps , fan speeds, among other things.

unless there rare defect in mac, temps within normal operating range, considering workload being put on it. websites flash content, games , other multimedia apps put higher demand on cpu/gpu, generating more heat. normal. if you're putting high demands on system, such gaming or other multimedia tasks, expect temps rise , fans spin accordingly. it's mac doing job maintain temps within normal range.

fans on when mac on, spinning @ minimum of 2000 rpm (for mbps) or 1800 rpm (for mbas, mbs , minis). spin faster needed keep temps @ safe level. if they're spinning without increased heat, try resetting smc. pram/nvram has nothing these issues, resetting not help. also, make sure don't block vents, located @ rear, near hinge.
