FaceTime Video Calls Still Limited to Wi-Fi as LTE iPad Rolls Out

the verge confirms in testing review unit of new ipad 4g lte facetime video calling remains limited wi-fi networks despite fact lte offers greater bandwidth many wi-fi networks.

report notes, steve jobs claimed during facetime's introduction @ iphone 4 media event in june 2010 apple still needed work carriers support facetime on cellular data networks , feature consequently remain wi-fi-only @ least through 2010. 2012 , 3g giving way lte on new ipad, seems carriers still unwilling allow facetime calls transmitted natively on networks, presumably due concerns increased data usage , strained network capacity.
