Boot Camp won't partition my drive, any alternatives?

hey folks.

having passed problems months ago, boot camp assistant not being able partition drive because fragmented or something, stumble across similar problem.

when run boot camp partition drive, having gotten past error of disk being fragmented (again), doesn't @ all. sits there hours, trying partition drive, not progressing.

wondering, because god knows i'm give on boot camp altogether, there alternative way partition drive boot camp?
maybe, don't know, disk utility? , using boot camp install windows?

i'd appreciate answer, 'cos getting on nerves fierce.

yes, should able shrink os x partition , create windows 1 using disk utility.

however, i'd recommend doing instead:

create bootable backup using ccc or similar tool.
boot backup.
wipe internal disk.
restore backup internal.
run bca again.

way have backup , can point.
