Syncing problems with my new iPad and MacBook

hi guys, i'm in need of advice.

i've got new ipad set straight box via icloud. hasn't ever been connected physically laptop.

but, want put movie files onto ipad in itunes.

i've connected using wire , itunes has recognised it, says 'set ipad' - start scratch or use back-up of old ipad 2011!

don't want either, because far i'm concerned it's set , want add files.

idea need do? appreciated...

 

click set new, , it'll recognize it's set up. not clear @ all, know, need fix this.
