i having trouble cds on mac. have backed sensitive data cd. now, when put cd mac update backup, says cd read only. tried changing permissions "get info" section. tried erasing , repairing disk disk utility....
don't know , extremely frustrating. want able update backups on /writable/ cd..
help/suggestions offered.

no such thing.
hate break but... can't "update" cd. it's not hard drive can erase , re-write information @ will. cd, once put information on it, can't take off, let alone edit it.
cds, dvd, , manner of portable data disks use them are, nature, "read only" devices. sorry.
perhaps try backing things on external hard drive, or usb flash drive?
