Multi touch trackpad in pre-unibody MBP

i have '08 mbp trackpad supports multi touch features.

question is, capabilities in trackpad itself, or in motherboard/cpu area?

i'm thinking putting top case 2.2 '07 on 2.5 '08. can whole 2.2 dirt cheap has great body mine little beat up.

know if i'd keep multi touch abilities on new trackpad?
