looking forward setting first media center. have following dedicate it:
15" macbook pro 2010
time capsule
hdtv !
ethernet connectivity
airport express
use mbp not want tethered tv considering atv2 tie together. however, before buying new try out possible solution mbp see whether family agrees (and whether can off cable way...).
problem how started (i can connect laptop tv , see it) should install xbmc? use remote? role should time capsule play (not storeing movies how connect mbp mimic atv2..) know these obvious questions have not found specific guide mbp opposed atv2...
suggestions/advice
i invest in boxee box , buy live tv tuner can download software free try on macbook pro won't have netflix etc. live tv tuner , basic cable (if have cable internet may free anyway) can watch live tv , watch online content on boxee box. airplay compatible , able browse files on macbook pro. www.boxee.tv more info.
remote if have ipod touch or iphone work remotes mbp or can order apple remote boxee box come one.
